Know What I Mean?

You know those awkward moments. It seems like there are endless opportunities for them to make themselves present, and there are only a few ways with which to deal with them....1.) Embrace the awkwardness and simply sigh or do nothing. 2.) Point out the awkwardness ex.- " Awkward momemt!" " Anyway!" or even " NEW SUBJECT!"   3.) Escape ex. - Sigh, look around, and just walk away 4.) Make a joke. If you're a girl you may have noticed that the majority of these awkward moments happen in the company of your father. For instance, A few weeks ago I was watching of one my favorite cheesy John Hughes movies - Some Kind Of Wonderful - With my Father. Twice in the movie the lead character passionately kisses two different crying girls. So, each time I exclaimed, " DON'T KISS HER! HER NOSE IS RUNNING!" ( Option 4)

Epiphany

In relationships, you often get to a point where religious beliefs are shared and explained. When I'm asked I usually just say that I believe in god, I pray, but I don't know his name, and I don't say amen. I say goodnight, or goodbye, ( If god is supposed to be my friend I will talk to him as such.) However, I respect and endeavor to understand people of all religious beliefs. Last night, after having such a conversation, I had one of my oddest and yet most profound ideas. That perhaps it would be an interesting idea to try to be baptised in, or at least familiar with, as many religions as possible before I die. Just a stray thought.

Puddles

When I was walking down the street today a man walked by - as usual I was singing loudly. He looked at me for a second then looked down, I assumed he was a weirdo and began to walk much faster and splash around in the puddles despite the water in my shoes. It wasn't until I had crossed the street and heard the man drive away that I realized how I always assume the absolute worse in people. In fact, he probably assumed that I was strange (which I am) due to the fact that I was singing about christians and pagans at the top of my lungs. Hmm. Just something to think about.

Easier Said Than Done

You know those people who respond to everything with obnoxious mocking or rude jokes? Or the people who call you names and try to hurt you? I propose that the reason those people do/say these things isn't because they hate you, or because they are just angry people, or even that they are bad individuals. The cause is simply that they 1.)  Have bad social skills due to their home life or other circumstances, and use these means as a way of attracting attention fom their peers and parents, 2.) They feel intimidated by you. 3.) or They are attracted to you and don't know how else to get your attention. Don't let the cruel taunting of people like these hurt you. Rather, try to feel sympathy for their pathetic attempts at getting friends,
